So, it's been pretty quiet here lately...

Wolf and I sold our bike over this summer. I'm sure we aren't the only people out there who have had to experience the same sadness due to the economy. I can tell I'm having withdrawals. I walk past motorcycles in the parking garage at my work and sigh. I hear the motor rev from my cubicle and start to daydream. I'm wearing my leather riding boots as casual wear. I can't let them sit in the closet unworn. I almost put my jacket on yesterday, but thought it might be strange to wear with the armor pads.

Anyway, why not let me live vicariously through you? Where have you taken your bike lately?

New Social Network Website Just for Bikers!

Hello everyone!

I just found this brand new website that allows anyone and everyone who loves motorcycles to join and hang out. It's a social network, meaning everyone has their own page where you can upload photos, videos, and connect with other bikers around the world. Like I said, it's brand new so there aren't many people yet, but the more people that join, the better!

So come on over and check it out. Chances are, you'll fall in love and have a great time!

See you over there!

Just an update:

Wolf and I are pretty much healed from the accident on 7/5/08 but we haven't gotten in any riding. He's taken the bike to and from work and around town a little but we still don't have a sissy bar and I'm not comfortable riding until we have one. We have been to a couple local biker meetups, one with the North Georgia Motorcycle Club (http://www.ngamc.com) and one with the Atlanta Motorcycle Enthusiasts (http://motorcycle.meetup.com/162/). Both groups are full of great people and definately worth checking out if you're in the area.

What have you all been doing? I imagine since it's been pretty quiet on here that everyone is out enjoying this beautiful weather on their bikes, but if you are online please pop in and tell us where you've gone and how it went!

Thank the gods for good gear.

Wolf and I were in an accident on 7/5/08. We were riding our 2000 Suzuki Intruder 1500CC and it was totalled in the accident. We were just outside Clayton, GA only going about 25 mph around a curve downhill. We hit some gravel and went into the hillside. Below are pics of my jacket (Barely scratched!), both Wolf and my helmets (destroyed), and Wolf's leather vest (cut off of him). Read more...Collapse )

spreading the word on TV opportunity

Ok, so anyone interested in wife swapping?

As the co-director of the Atlanta Peach State Riders, a local chapter of Women On Wheels(r), I get calls from various people--usually promoting a charity ride, or occasionally a journalist writing an article.

But today, I had a call from the casting producer for "Wife Swap" on ABC. They are looking for women and men who are "avid motorcycle enthusiasts." There must be 2 parents in the family, plus at least one child 6 to 27.

Anyone here interested???

Hmmm.... I wonder who the motorcycle family will be swapping with......?

Seriously, if anyone is interested, please contact the producer directly, but if this is the first place you heard about this, please make sure that you mention that you were referred by me (Stacey Day). If we're eligible for a referral fee, it would be a nice addition to the chapter's bank account (which basically goes to charities, like Bikers for Boobs. :)

Feel free to forward to all your favorite motorcycle e-mail lists, etc.

*************************
Hi Stacey,

It was great speaking with you earlier. As I mentioned on the phone I am
Casting News Producer for ABC's reality show, "Wife Swap."

We are currently casting for our fifth season and we are looking for
great families and more specifically women and men who are avid
motorcycle enthusiasts. I would love to know if you could help in
getting the word out to the motorcycle community about this
opportunity and if someone is interested they should get in touch with
me ASAP.

Families must consist of two parents and at least one child between 6
and 27. Families who appear on the show receive a $20,000 honorarium
and if
you refer a family who appears on our show, you will receive a $1,000
finder's fee PER family.

If you are unfamiliar with the show, the premise of Wife Swap is to
take two different families and have the moms switch places to
experience how another family lives. This is meant to be a positive
experience for people to not only learn but teach other ways of life.
If you would like more information about the show, go to ABC.com and
you will find "Wife Swap" under the primetime listings.

If you are interested, please contact my work ASAP 646 747 7947 or
please email your phone number to rebecca.chaikin@castingrdf.com and I
will call you directly. I would love to talk to you at your earliest
convenience.

Thank You,
